Frequently Asked Questions

  • Certain services are a big, expensive commitment.

Consultations are required prior to your chemical service appointment to evaluate the condition of your hair, to discuss all options and make sure we’re all in agreement and understand the desired result.

  • No-shows and appointments cancelled fewer than 24 hours in advance will be charged a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the service price.

  • The easiest way is to book online. Feel free to give us a call to book, but certain appointments do require a credit card on file. If you aren’t comfortable giving the required information over the phone, book online.

  • Depending on the day! During the week you might have better luck. Feel free to give us a call to see if we can get you in.

  • No. No you won’t. If you show up sick, we’ll cancel your appointment and charge the late cancellation fee.

If you have fever or other symptoms, please call the salon at your earliest convenience. Better yet, send your stylist an email, or reply to your confirmation email. Take care of yourself and we’ll get you rescheduled when you’re feeling better.

  • Depending on the service you’re getting, you’ll want to consider the following:

We always take precautions to protect your clothing and jewelry during your service. A little common sense goes a long way toward avoiding a stain or water over-spray.

Don’t wear your brand new white linen suit to your hair color appointment.

Avoid hoodies, as they interfere with the cape closure and are too bulky at the shampoo bowl. Same goes for turtlenecks, cowl necks and anything with a high collar.

If you’re coming in for makeup or a formal hairstyle, wear a button up top so you don’t have to pull your shirt over your head when you getting dressed for your occasion.

Jewelry: Avoid chokers, clear necklaces or tiny chains that might be snipped if they’re hard to see.

Inform your stylist of any piercings that are hidden by your hair. Remove what you can. We don’t want the comb to catch and pull your industrial or helix.

  • This is a tough one. As much as we love all animals, our licensing board (TX Dept of Licensing and Regulation) permits only Service Animals and prohibits any animal that doesn’t meet the guidelines for Service Animals.

Emotional Support Animals do not currently meet those guidelines.

    According to the ADA:

“A service animal means any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. Tasks performed can include, among other things, pulling a wheelchair, retrieving dropped items, alerting a person to a sound, reminding a person to take medication, or pressing an elevator button.

Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are not service animals under Title II and Title III of the ADA. Other species of animals, whether wild or domestic, trained or untrained, are not considered service animals either. The work or tasks performed by a service animal must be directly related to the individual’s disability. It does not matter if a person has a note from a doctor that states that the person has a disability and needs to have the animal for emotional support. A doctor’s letter does not turn an animal into a service animal.”

  • Rock N Roll Hair is an adult environment where the music is loud, the language can be coarse, and alcohol is served. Well behaved children are welcome, but must be here for a service. Children are not allowed to wait unattended.

While we do provide services to children, we will refuse service to any child who doesn’t want a haircut or who is unable to sit safely still for the duration.

  • Sure, but they’ll have to wait in the designated waiting area. No sitting in a stylist’s chair unless they’re receiving a service.

  • Probably. Inquire with your favorite stylist to arrange early or late appointments.

  • If you do a little comparison pricing, you’ll find that our prices are really competitive.

Our owner and stylists have extensive education and experience.

The prices at Rock N Roll Hair are based on a lot of factors; salon overhead costs, taxes (local, state, and federal), payroll, utilities, supplies, education, recurring licensing fees, and so on.

  • We have a 15 minute late policy. If you are 15 minutes late we will not be able to accommodate your service, and you may be charged a no-show/late cancellation fee. We don’t want to rush your service, or inconvenience the next client.

  • Excellent question. We endeavor to run on-time, all the time. That said, sometimes we get an unexpected result, or have a personal emergency and run late. If we’re so far behind that it requires you to wait more than 15 minutes, we’ll discuss options with you. If you or we decide that we need to reschedule, you’ll be given a discount at your rescheduled appointment for the inconvenience.
